The Apprentices at Porsche Centre Chester

At Porsche Centre Chester, we pride ourselves on a lot of things, one of them being our apprenticeship programme.
Porsche Centre Chester is providing a platform for young people in the area to grow into skilled employees. A couple of our current Apprentices have won awards through the Porsche Apprenticeship which includes all Porsche Centre's apprentices. Matthew Woosey, from Liverpool achieved first place in the national Porsche apprentice scheme for the last two years and Steve Donnelly, from Moreton, finished second in the same years.
Half of the Porsche-trained Technicians currently working at the Centre began their Porsche careers on this scheme, including Steve who qualified in late 2016. It is hoped the four will soon be joined by two more successful apprentices, with Matthew due to qualify later this year and new apprentice, Lydia Smith, currently in the first year of the three-year programme. The focus is always on retaining apprentices by providing a secure future, career structure and opportunities for progression. As a result, all Apprentices that have trained and qualified with Porsche Centre Chester have stayed with the business. This is not just within the Service department, this also includes other areas such as our sales administration team.
Carl Hazelton, Centre Principal at Porsche Centre Chester, said: “It’s fantastic to see Matthew and Steve be the best of the best year on year. It clearly shows we have the right people in place to provide the very best service to all of our customers. We have some very talented young people in Cheshire and the North West, but many aren’t given the opportunity to develop into the career path that they desire. Discovering the next generation of young local people to help drive a business forward should be one of the top priorities of any business. It certainly is at Porsche Centre Chester.”
