Tell us a bit about yourself! – I am 56 years old, married to Tom, mother to Craig (38) and Stephanie (28) also nana to my grandson Charlie (6, but nearly 7!). Family is very important to me. I enjoy meeting new people and welcoming them into the dealership. I am a very caring person, who adores looking after people and making them happy. I believe that we all need to feel loved and appreciated. I have had a varied career, including working in education (as a learning support worker), being a branch manager (in the power tool industry), and working in hotel restaurants. I am a bit of a perfectionist and like things ‘just so!’
How long have you worked for Jaguar Stoke? – This is my fifth year (in one format or another!). It is quite a story actually. I started here as a part time cleaner, to supplement another part time job that I had (due to the fact that I had been made redundant). The HOB at the time, saw the potential in me and liked my work ethics; and when the position became available as a receptionist, it was offered to me. I then went on to become ‘the host’ (‘meeter and greeter’) and currently cover both of those roles. I have helped in extra ways along the journey, such as making the ‘Post Service Follow-Up’/’Sales Follow-Up’ calls, ensuring that customers are happy after having work done in the service department, or after purchasing their vehicle. I have ordered the supplies for the showroom and kept filing up to date. As you can see: I love to keep busy!
Why do you like working for Rybrook and what is your role? – I feel very proud to be a part of the team at Rybrook. The fact that I am a ‘mature’ lady, and now use a walking stick doesn’t seem to be a stumbling block, so I am grateful that they see past those things. They are obviously interested in looking after their staff and customers alike. They are very ‘Customer first’ focused, which I love, but are also very keen to invest in the business, ensuring that the customer experience is always the very best it can be. When customers are buying into the brand, they deserve the best brand standards that we can give them. My role here is to answer and re-direct the calls, take messages, keep an accurate log and E-mail the team. I welcome our customers with genuine warmth and politeness, looking after them with a cup of coffee, tea, or soft drink, and locate the team member that they need. I keep all of the supplies stocked up, and the area clean and tidy for the customers, clean the coffee machine on a daily basis.
What is your favourite film? – Ghost (It is about love in the purest sense – Something that we need more of in the world!)
Who is your favourite sports team? Or Who is your favourite actor/actress? – That one is easy! …My grandson, Charlie, is a very talented ‘up and coming’ football player and plays for a local team, called ‘Butt Lane White Stars’, so it has got to be them!
Are you a good cook? – I believe that I am, yes, but that is a question to ask my family really
What's your signature dish? Or What is your favourite food? – I make a mean lasagne, chicken and potato curry, and a great roast dinner!
Where’s your go-to restaurant? – I love ‘Mirchi’ – An Indian restaurant, just a short journey from the dealership, at Snow Hill. Their food is not only delicious, but their welcome is very warm too. Their motto is: ‘Arrive as a guest, and leave as a friend’ …I like that.
What was your first car? - It was a Mini Clubman in white, and when I bought it, it was dark and raining, in a village that I didn’t know, and the first time that I had driven alone, just days after passing my driving test. Very scary!
What is your dream car? – I am torn to be honest! Out of the Jaguar Range, I love both the XJ (the pinnacle of luxury!) but also the F-Pace (fantastic 650Lt boot-space, and nice and high).
